Gustav AI Chat Improvements

Gustav, our AI-powered assistant currently in alpha testing, continues to improve with several quality-of-life updates in this release. A beta release is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.

If you have not yet received an invitation to the alpha and would like to try Gustav, please contact us via email or through the built-in support channel.

What's new:

  • Personalization with steering notes - You can now write persistent notes that are always passed along to Gustav. Use these to guide Gustav's behavior to your preferences β€” for example, preferred communication style, recurring instructions, or context about your team. Gustav will follow these notes in every conversation.

  • Persistent conversations - Your Gustav conversations are now saved automatically and displayed in a sidebar. You can pick up any previous conversation right where you left off, whenever you want.

  • Chat suggestions auto-focus - Clicking a suggestion now automatically focuses the input field with your cursor ready to type, so you can continue immediately without an extra click.

  • Multiline input on welcome screen - The welcome screen input field now supports multiple lines with auto-grow, making it easier to paste or type longer questions.

  • Line break preservation - Multi-line text pasted into Gustav now correctly preserves line breaks. Previously, pasting formatted text would collapse everything into a single line.

  • Cleaner conversation flow - Gustav now produces less repetitive status messages during multi-step plans, resulting in more focused and readable conversations.

How to access: Click "Gustav" in the main navigation to open the AI assistant.

File Analysis Improvements

File analysis in Gustav is now more reliable and faster.

What's improved:

  • Session restore - File analysis results are now correctly restored when you reload the page. Previously, analysis could be lost after a browser refresh.

  • Better result cards - Analysis results now display as organized cards with file preview thumbnails and download links, making it easier to review analyzed documents.

  • Faster results - Analysis cards now appear significantly faster than before.

How to use: Upload a file in a Gustav conversation to trigger analysis.

Automatic Tenant Identification by Customer Number

The AI email processing pipeline can now automatically identify tenants when they include their customer number (Kundennummer) in an email. When a customer number is found in an incoming email, the system matches it to the correct tenant and links them to the case β€” no manual lookup required.

Email Search Performance

Searching for emails by recipient is now significantly faster.

What's improved:

  • Faster email lookups - Email recipient searches that previously timed out on larger teams now complete quickly. The search uses an optimized method that works reliably even with large numbers of emails.

PDF Preview

PDF files can now be previewed wherever they appear in the application.

What's new:

  • Hover preview - Hovering over a PDF file anywhere in the application now shows an instant preview tooltip, just like images.

  • In-browser PDF viewer - Clicking on a PDF opens a full in-browser PDF viewer, so you can read documents without downloading them. Previously, PDFs showed a "Preview not available" message and required downloading to view.

Bug Fixes

ERP ticket linking: Work orders and damage reports created before the ERP ticket are now correctly linked when the ERP ticket is subsequently created from the case. Previously, these items could remain unlinked.

Email list sorting: Column sorting in the email list now works correctly after performing a search. Previously, sorting stopped responding after using the search function.

File preview stability: File preview tooltips no longer jump when hovering over attachments. The preview now displays smoothly and stays in position.

Deleted case handling: Navigating to a case that has been deleted now shows a clear message instead of an error screen.

Gustav session restore: Fixed an issue where reloading a Gustav conversation could show duplicate messages.

Gustav session handling: A warning message now appears if a conversation session cannot be found, instead of showing a blank screen.

Search result cards: Fixed an issue where Gustav search results were not displaying rich cards (such as building information and entity lists) correctly.

Mobile layout: The conversations button now uses a compact icon-only layout on mobile devices, saving screen space.

Gustav loading: Loading animations now align more smoothly with the loaded chat interface.
